The Ministry of Treasury and Finance announced the data on gross and net external debt stock, Treasury guaranteed external debt stock and public net debt stock, and European Union (EU) defined general government debt stock as of December 31, 2021.
Accordingly, Turkey’s gross external debt stock was $441.1 billion by the end of 2021, while the ratio of stock to national income was 54.9%.
On the same date, net foreign debt stock was recorded as 221 billion dollars. The ratio of stock to national income was 27.5 percent.
Treasury guaranteed foreign debt stock was 14.7 billion dollars.
Public net debt stock was recorded as 1 trillion 474.8 billion liras in this period. The ratio of stock to national income was determined as 20.5 percent.
EU defined general government debt stock, as of the same date, was calculated as 3 trillion 26.5 billion liras, and the ratio of this figure to national income was calculated as 42 percent.
