Erdogan met with leaders of Germany, Bulgaria and Finland


President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a telephone conversation with President of Bulgaria Rumen Radev. According to the statement made by the Presidency’s Directorate of Communications, steps to improve Turkey-Bulgaria relations and regional issues were discussed at the meeting.

President Erdogan conveyed his congratulations once again for Radev’s second presidency, during the meeting.

Erdogan stated that they acted with the determination to move the existing deep-rooted relations with friendly and ally Bulgaria forward in every field, especially in transportation, trade and defense industry.

President Erdogan and President of Bulgaria Radev also made evaluations about the Russia-Ukraine war and its regional effects.

Meeting with the President of Finland

In the phone call with Finnish President Sauli Niinistö, Turkey-Finland relations and regional issues were discussed.

President Erdogan, during the meeting, expressed his satisfaction that the first meeting of the Turkey-Finland Economic and Trade Joint Committee will be held in Ankara in June.

Pointing out that the importance of cooperation in the field of defense industry has increased in the current period, President Erdoğan expressed that they expect the obstacles to the export of military equipment to Turkey to be removed.

In the meeting, in which evaluations were also made on the Russia-Ukraine war, President Erdoğan stated that they continue their attempts to reach a ceasefire and open humanitarian corridors.

Russia-Ukraine war evaluation with Scholz

President Erdoğan met with German Chancellor Scholz after the Presidents of Bulgaria and Finland, Russia-Ukraine war and regional issues were discussed .

President Erdogan told Scholz that efforts to end the war in Ukraine continue.
